Building Roots in a Relationship

Another awesome devotional

Solomon wrote in Proverbs, “Do you see honey, eat what you need, lest you eat too much and vomit it up.” You know what that means? It means too much of a good thing can become a bad thing. Young men and women, hear me. Don’t escalate your relationship too quickly. How does that happen? One way is that couples share too much. They go too deep, too fast. They go too deep emotionally. Another way is that they can’t keep their hands off of each other. They go too deep physically. Like a towering oak tree, lasting love needs time to develop strong roots.

So good. Very much what i need to read lately, as I try to rebuild my life. I am very scared that I will want to be in love with someone way too quickly just to fill the emptiness. Thank you for posting this.

Wow! Amazing devotional! Did it come from a devotional book or did the Holy Spirit reveal this truth to you during your quiet time? I have had the Holy Spirit( the Lord) speak to me about relationship and this devotional just takes the point even deeper. I tend to be an open book when getting to know people and I have recently been trying to be careful and take my time getting to know others. Thanks for the much needed insight
