YouTube just changed the monetization standards for new and existing YouTube channels. To monetize your YouTube channel you now must have 1000 subscribers and over 4,000 hours of viewed content in the past 365 days. That means 240,000 minutes of your content must be consumed in the past year in order to be elegible to monetize your content with ads. People are seriously freaking out.
To me, this means that we all need to step up our game. People who are not serious are not going to try. I’m ok with that.
