WordPress is much more than a blogging platform. It is quickly becoming the script of choice when deciding what is going to power your website. Even as a website designer many of my own websites, including this website, are powered by WordPress. It is easy to manage your content through WordPress.

These days I am getting more and more requests for websites designed using WordPress. When I launch a clients website I provide them with a customized screencast tutorial guide on how to use their website. It cuts down on the amount of time I spend training my clients while at the same time providing them with a tool they can visit whenever they need to. It’s a win all around.

I thought I would put together a How To video for those of you wanting to install wordpress on your own hosting account. The following video is about 29 minutes long and explains everything in detail. This video is geared toward those who have little to no web or programming experience. I talk a bit fast and move quickly through some of the process but I explain the reason behind every decision made through the install process. Once you have installed WordPress a few times you should be able to manually install WordPress in under five minutes.

In this video I suggest options for WordPress Hosting, which FTP Software to choose and go step by step through the manual process of installing WordPress on your own Hosting Account.
