Today started off like any Monday. Me answering what seems like an endless list of emails that collected over the weekend. Having customers all over the world means different time zones and ideas of what a work day or week look like. Nevertheless I am thankful for all of the work that I have. I am busy enough to be very comfortable.

One of the areas I really want to focus on in 2012 is time optimization. What that really means is that I need to prioritize better and make better use of the time I have each day. Earlier today, at around 3pm, I wondered to myself where the day went. I knew that I did not waste much time doing anything other than working however the day was almost gone. Each day begins with an idea I have in my head of what I want to accomplish but I usually end up having to work on something else. I need a new kind of discipline that replaces what I thought I had.

To be completely honest, I am writing this the morning after it should have been written. I did not remember to write until I had been laying in bed for 15 minutes. I thought about getting up to write but I really wanted to get to bed early so I could wake up for the gym.

Back to my original thought about email, I now have 65 emails in my inbox. They just flow in like lava consuming all of the time I thought I was going to have.

We are getting closer to being able to release State of Tech. We had everything ready and then the fire happened next door. Now that we have everything set up in the main office I think it is going to turn out better and its much more fined tuned. I have two episodes for each show filmed and Sean will be editing them today.

When I decided to move out of a home office into an actual office I think I went a little overboard. The things I put in this place rarely got used. The projector and audio system were top notch equipment. This year was definitely a little overboard with things. I guess I just wanted it to be perfect or to represent the way that I wanted to represent myself to clients and anyone who came in to visit. Luckily I made wise purchases and have been able to sell a few of the items on Amazon for an actual profit. I will admit that I spend more money on things than I should but the things I do buy can often be turned around and sold for near what I paid for them. I rarely lose much money on a purchase. Even when I buy a new laptop I sell the old one and only lose out on about $50-100 even though I owned it for a year.

I am nearing the end of a couple of web projects that I took on for clients and I am excited to be done with them. I am ready to invest some time into my own websites and take them to the next level. Considering what little time I spend on my own websites it is amazing how much they actually produce for me. I want to completely revamp Dailyappshow and take it to a new level above those who have copied my business model. With State of Tech and my Photography business, 2012 is going to be crazy. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me in 2012.

Speaking of 2012, I can’t believe I am going to have another child. It’s funny because I was born in 1980, my brother in 1982 and my youngest brother in 1984. Liam was born in 2010, our next child will be born in 2012 and I wonder when our third child will be born, if we have a third child.

Childbirth has been very hard on Mallory. She realizes that others have had a harder time than she has however it has taken quite a toll on her. One of my goals will be to make sure I support her 100% and help her get back to where she wants to be. She needs that, I can see it in her face when she puts on clothes or looks at herself in the mirror. She is beautiful to me but I want her to see herself as beautiful as well.

2012 will be a neat year.
