Ylvis – The Fox [Remake Music Video]

After falling in love with the Parody music video “The Fox” by Ylvis, my team and I decided we needed to remake the video in my studio. Using a greenscreen, a fox suit we bought on the internet and some makeup provided by a friend, we recreated the music video to the best of our ability. We had pretty much a zero budget and only a day or so to pull it off. This really was a joint effort across our team of three at Hill Media Group.

I have watched many videos go viral, like the original video which went viral in just 5 days after it’s launch. Shortly after that you see the remakes and parody videos go up attempting to get attention. I always thought it would be fun to try and ride the wave of a viral video so my team and I got right on it.

As I write this, our video is 1.5 days old and has already reached 150,000 views. I am not sure if our version will “go viral” or not, but who cares, it was fun and we enjoyed doing it. With our limited success, Youtube users have commented everything from praise for our attempt to straight up calling us idiots, but in more derogatory terms. Regardless, we had fun and are glad we did it. It is resulting in a lot of views and new subscribers to our channel. After a couple of weeks, I plan to write about our experiences.

If you want to check out our video, here it is. Keep in mind that viewing the original puts our video into perspective. Ylvis is a Norwegian comedy group on TV similar to Saturday Night Live in the US. This music video was just one many. You should search them on Youtube and watch some of their stuff.

Jerad! I’m so excited to see where God is taking you with your talent. This is how we capture the attention of this new young generation. Your lyrics and storyline, the dance moves, the sound quality, video color is incredible! Looks like your video has gone viral! God bless n keep on having fun. P.S. This video made me laugh but I’m also well aware of the work that went behind in creating it. Uncle Ted

Thanks! The song was not ours, we remade the video based off of the original, which is on Youtube. It was a lot of fun to remake. Thanks for the kind words. We shot the whole thing with DSLR cameras.
